I am one person that believes:

  • All individuals have dignity and are worthy of respect.

  • I must govern my own behavior with a sense of morality, citizenship, and charity.

  • I am responsible for my successes and failures.

  • It is wrong to spend what I do not have and saddle others with the debt.

  • It is the role of government to protect equal rights, not guarantee equal results.

  • The government is us. I am responsible for casting an informed vote.

  • We can provide sound regulation and an appropriate safety net without corrupting the incentives for self-reliance or individual achievement.

  • A faithful interpretation of the Constitution with uniform application of our laws ensures we are all abiding by the same rules and restrains arbitrary government actions.

  • Three hundred million lightly-governed individuals driven by personal responsibility will create a healthier, stronger, and more compassionate society than the most skilled central planner operating with the best of intentions.

  • We cannot ignore the principles on which the republic is built and still expect to have one.
